VLCD - Very Low Calorie Diet (500 calories per day). The drops will release between 2,000 and 4,000 calories into your blood stream so the food you eat is just supplementing these calories and teaching your digestive sytem good habits. You will not be hungry.
Remember it is important to eat 500 calories per day. If the recipes you choose leave you short of that 500 calories target, increase the vegetable quantity to compensate. These recipes are specifically designed for the limited ingredients available during this phase of the program. Explained fully in the User Guide.

Fish and Cabbage with Cumin (Phase 2 meal - VLCD)
Ingredients (142 cals)
100g white fish fillet without skin
2 tsp Tamari (soy sauce)
1/4 tsp crushed fennel seeds
1 cup Savoy cabbage, thinly shredded (22 cals)
1 spring onion
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
Grill fish fillet (season with a squeeze of lemon, ½ the tamari, salt and pepper to taste). Be careful not to overcook.
Meanwhile, heat pan and cook cabbage, fennel and cumin (about 3 minutes) until cabbage starts to wilt. Add a drizzle of water or lemon juice plus the remaining Tamari to avoid sticking.
Place cabbage on plate. Put the fish on top and drizzle with the pan juices. (if you place the fish on a piece of foil curled up at the edges you can catch the juice and use it too). Garnish with spring onion and serve immediately.
Tarragon Veal and Mushrooms (Phase 2 meal - VLCD)
Ingredients (134 cals)
100g veal schnitzel (uncrumbed),
90g mushrooms, thinly sliced (22 cals)
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon leaves
Cook veal for 2 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking (lightly coat with lemon juice first so it doesn’t stick). Transfer to a plate. Cover to rest and keep warm.
Put ½ cup of water into the pan then add mushrooms to it. Cook for 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir in tarragon.
Add mushrooms to the plate with the veal. Garnish with a little chopped parsley if desired.
Prawn San Choy Bow (Phase 2 meal - VLCD)
Ingredients (151 cals)
100g cooked and diced prawn meat
½ packet diced miracle noodles (optional) you can also use miracle rice.
1 medium sized Cucumbers or 2.5 cups of Celery sticks (45 cals)
½ tsp fish sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp crushed garlic
½ tsp crushed ginger
½ tsp crushed chilli (optional)
1 tblsp chopped fresh coriander
Salt to taste
Heat pan and add 1 tblsp water, garlic, ginger, chilli, soy and fish sauce. Be careful not to burn the spices.
Add the prawn meat and noodles and toss through the spices until heated
Remove from heat and mix through coriander.
Serve with your choice of celery or cucumber or you can put spoonfuls of mixture into lettuce cups which is traditionally how it is served. You can eat the equivalent of 3 cups of chopped lettuce if you choose this option.
